Vice President of Sales

Avant-garde Health enables hospitals and physicians to understand and improve their care processes, costs, and outcomes by utilizing technology and data analytics. We are a mission-driven business that grows out of the value-based health care research at Harvard Business School. Backed by General Catalyst, Founder Collective, and Tectonic Ventures. We are working with 25% of the top hospitals in the country. Our solution is offered on a subscription basis (SaaS) and our customer net promoter scores are in the +75 to +90 range.

We want you to join us in transforming health care delivery for decades to come. We’re excited to hire a person who wants to drive sales for a health tech venture-backed startup. We are a small team, and this person will work closely with the CEO and executive leaders on our go-to-market efforts. As we scale the business, this role would involve building out a team.

In this role, you will be responsible for connecting with physicians and C-Suite executives. This is primarily a hunter role, which involves building new relationships and working through a highly consultative sales process. As you add clients, a portion of your time would be further cultivating these relationships to expand within these organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate sales opportunities entrepreneurially with hospitals, surgery centers, and health systems.

  • Lead client engagements from prospecting to qualification and deal closure through our high-touch, consultative sales process involving physicians and administrative leaders.

  • Help us refine and further flesh out our go-to-market playbook.

  • Utilize your knowledge to provide input on our business and product strategy, and direction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree is required. A relevant advanced degree is preferred.

  • Success leading highly consultative complex sales to hospitals and health systems, preferably as a mix of software and services, and ideally involving analytics.

  • Very entrepreneurial and excited to be self-reliant working in a fast-moving startup.

  • The ideal person will have a broad network of relationships with senior hospital/health system executives and/or surgical department chairs.

  • Creative, adaptable, and a committed learner--we are not looking for someone who feels like they already have all the answers.
