Senior Software Engineer I

Key Responsibilities
- Expand our health care analytics visualization tools, used by physicians and hospital executives to identify cost reduction and outcomes improvements
- Integrate machine learning models into Python scripts to help match data from different sources and predict missing values (EHR and CMS)
- Maintain and improve scripts that classify supplies using machine learning algorithms
- Design charts to help visualize different metrics used in healthcare data
- Support our APIs with ETL scripts and big data computations across large datasets
- Clean, format, and standardize data into a specified format
- Perform exploratory data analysis that helps AGH derive meaningful results from large, unprocessed datasets
- Contribute to our backend services and REST APIs, primarily written in Python (Django)
- Write complex MySQL queries to efficiently fetch data from the database as per client requirements
- Make the data processing pipeline less time-consuming and more efficient by improving scripts
- Use knowledge of algorithms to improve the quality of code and usefulness of the software
- Build out our single-page applications, primarily in JavaScript (React)
- Contribute toward displaying the data that was fetched by the APIs effectively on the website
- Contribute to our infrastructure, build/deploy processes, using AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, and RDS
- Create pipelines that help automate the data processing to reduce manual intervention and reduce errors
- Create a fault-tolerant system where progress in each step is logged, so that all the processes can be monitored
- Develop a chatbot using large language models through OpenAI APIs
- Build a HIPAA-compliant pipeline that leverages LLMs for text-to-SQL conversion with rigorous data sanitization.
Qualifications
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and three years of experience in Software Engineering, including a solid foundation in coding and the broader software development landscape.
Special Requirements: Experience in each of the following specialized skills:
- 3+ years of expertise in computer programming languages, primarily Python and JavaScript (React).
- 3+ years of knowledge of algorithms as applied to computer coding and software engineering of SaaS platforms.
- 3+ years of extensive experience with APIs, as applied to large datasets, backend services, and single-page applications.
- 1+ year of experience with front-end development techniques and tools, especially for data visualization, for the creation of various chart types, maps, and other visual representations to help users understand data trends and patterns.

Wage Rate: $150,000 – $160,000
